Constructing hierarchical Ti3SiC2 layer and carbon nanotubes on SiC fibers for enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption

To enhance the absorption performance of silicon carbide fiber (SiCf), hybrid fibers with a double shell structure (Ti3SiC2 and carbon nanotubes (CNTs)) on SiCf ([email protected]3SiC2@SiCf) were successfully synthesized by combination molten salt method floating catalytic chemical vapor deposition. A series 10% weight fraction reinforced paraffin samples was prepared to study coating influences electromagnetic wave (EMW) performances. Coated Ti3SiC2 CNTs, dielectric permittivity could be modulated in quite wide range. The [email protected]3SiC2@SiCf thickness 3.8 mm showed minimum reflection loss value ?53 dB at 6.57 GHz, 2.5 presented effective bandwidth 5.6 GHz (from 9 14.6 GHz). highly improved EMW attributed conductive aroused interfaces. excellent provided modified high potential application absorbers.
